I tend to leave the quarter. It isn't that you should, it is just that I should. It isn't a sacrifice, per se. It is simply the easiest way I know how to bless another. I don't know their story. Whether their story is big and beautiful or big and ugly, the twenty-five pennies that make up that quarter don't care. Just bless. So, there I am digging. Penny, penny, nickel, dime, but no quarter. Most days, I leave the quarter. My gaze rises. There, what do you know? My quarter. Blessing me, in return. It isn't always a bless for bless, right? Some days it is bless, bless, bless, bless... and a negligent return. But some days, you look up... you look up... and see the blessing in return amidst the ugly and the negligent.
Day 10 of 31 of the #write31days challenge.
