Your Story.

Monday, October 31, 2016

Today is Halloween.  Today will be chocked full of sweet things.  Today we will all don a thrifted version of the main characters of Little House on the Prairie and go talk to our sweet neighbors who will undoubtedly spoil you, thus me, with treats.

As much as I am going to love seeing my little boy as Jack and you girls as Mary and Laura, I am looking forward to Pa. I always look forward to him.  The man who wore a beard net for well over forty hours, just so he would have a closer resemblance to the Pa that you girls have long pictured.  You girls will never know the sacrifices he gladly makes for you.  And that is the most beautiful part of his servant soul.

So, I end this writing challenge with this.  I have found a gem of a best friend and husband in your dad.  It wasn't, isn't, and will never be without work.  So much work.  Work, that if you had the ability to fully understand, you likely would state it is much, much too much.  Know, please know, it is worth it.

I don't expect our story to be entirely like your story.  In fact, that would be rather boring.  I wanted you to know bits of our story, because stories are worth telling.  I pray that bits and pieces of our story stick with you as your story unfolds.

It would be our greatest honor to always be a small piece of your great, big, beautiful story.

Love,
Momma
