Rah, Rah!

Support goes a long way.  As you are being mindful of togetherness, one opportunity to see another shine is by delving into their support system.  Dig your heels in and cement in their hearts that you are there.  I am lucky, your dad has just a few selective interests.  It makes it easy on me to be supportive.  Your momma, well, she is a different story.  Your dad works outrageously hard to support all the random endeavors that I find myself pursuing.  It is the ebb and flow, the give and take of a relationship.

You'll come to realize that a little support goes a long way in the making of a healthy relationship.  It often takes a sacrifice of your way, your plans, and your idea of a good time.  A funny thing happens when you support intentionally, though.  Somehow his way and his plans suddenly become your idea of a good time.  It is life giving to see them shine.

So, make a silly banner or stand in the freezing cold or be present when he is explaining that way over your head thing.  There is strong chance, then, that he'll do the same for you.
