I have been exploring with these women for twelve years. When I think back to the years spent dating your dad, it keeps striking me that there is a whole lot more that I remember that doesn't necessarily include him. I have touched on that progression of togetherness, yes, but I don't want to forget to encourage you to keep your girlfriends. You will soon come to realize that the time you are living in, daughters, is a hard one for friendships. Perhaps, more than in any other era, you will be confronted with feigned friendships. Ones that give you a false sense of community based on likes and shares and photo-editing. I want to encourage you to pursue true, deep friendships. For, these types of friendships are the ones that will walk with you as you are dating. Find those girls who will be willing to speak truth into your life The ones who get you and that know what is in your heart of hearts. Someday, he'll be your best friend. In the meantime and always, make room for girlfriends.
Oh, and be that friend, too. The art of friendship is a beautiful thing. Certainly something that takes a lot of time and effort and honesty, but then again, doesn't every beautiful thing?
P.S. It also will give you an arsenal of hilarious photos to look back on.
