A Treasure.

Yesterday, I stumbled on an old song that I had written.  I entitled it, "Eyes Shining" back then.  I think the name holds true today.  It is a song about how the eyes have a way of telling our inward story.  Pay attention to his eyes, my beautiful girls. 

Eyes are perhaps the most telling of a person.  I see it in your photographs quite often.  The eyes have a way of piercing right through a moment, though a soul to tell the true story. 

The song speaks to the treasure that we have locked beneath our skin. 

For my eyes reflect an inward love.  A Father who opens my eyes that I might truly see.  These eyes reveal a treasure.  A treasure locked beneath my skin.

The last chorus is a bit different. 

Imagine if they knew an inward love.  A Father who opens their eyes that they might truly see.  To know they have a treasure.  A treasure locked beneath their skin.

Those last two lines get me every time. 

I wanted you to hear my voice, because I don't want you to forget.  Girls, all of us have a treasure locked beneath our skin.  It is a gift from God.  It is beautiful you and the love that He has specifically, intentionally just for you.

Watch his eyes.  Make sure they are dancing with the treasure of you.
