I caught this photo of my boy last weekend and it has kept me dreaming.
This has been an interesting season. The start of the school year has been
refining for me. Perhaps it is because
routines and schedules evidence your strengths and weaknesses in the most
tangible of ways. It has been weeks of
figuring out what works, new processes, and how the heck to keep straight all
the things. As such, it is far too easy
to become enslaved to the present.
Present needs. Present circumstances.
Present pressures. It is easy to
forget to dream.
His little foot there reminds me that we need to keep
reaching. Reaching out to the very One
who holds my dreams in the palm of His hand.
The very one who dreams for me when I just can’t seem to muster it.
Grateful for this little boy and the story
that his bitty stretched out shoe tells.
