After Orson's twelve week photo shoot, Ona asked if she could take pictures with our DSLR. This isn't the first time that she has asked. I love her perspective on these.
The pictures are entirely imperfect. I love them, though. It brought to mind the words from a song that has long been dear to my heart.
You should knowLittle BabyThat I am the lucky one.I get to be the one to hold your handI get to be the one.
-JJ Heller, I Get To Be The One.
I get to be the one. I get to be their momma. This one here in the picture with me. The one behind the camera. The one rummaging around in the bathroom drawer. All three. They are all mine and I am their momma. It is way too easy to loose perspective as an individual, as a wife, and as momma when you have littles tugging on your every side. These words reminded me to let loose of the petty and bask in the realization that I get to be the one, their one. Their one momma.
Praying that this reminder holds fast in this momma's heart and trust that it brings a bit of encouragement to you, too. It looks so different on each of us, but we get to be. We get to be the one.
