Day Three of Thirty-One.

"Mom!  My animals need to go to the doctor right now!"
"Mom!  Look at my princess dress!" aka a towel wrapped around her waist.
"Mom!  These are my glass slippers!" aka her daddy's gym shoes.
"Mom!  These leaves are my babies.  Teetee, Neenee, and Simon.
...
My big girl is creative and imaginative.  These are just a few of the things that have come up in conversations as of late.  She makes me laugh, no doubt.  She encourages me too, though.  Encourages me to think outside the box.  Take things for what they are and for what they were never meant to be.  I like to think I rub off on her, but there is this sinking feeling that she rubs off on me just as equally.  We spent time this afternoon flipping through the pages of her most recent art book, Three.
We started this tradition here.  What struck me is how she remembers where each project was made--library, school, with mommy and daddy, at the art table, etc.  Each piece has a memory attached.  Reminded me of why I love a good thrift store hunt.  Winds up it is more about the story than the bounty.  I want to remember that when it comes to my crazy gals.  Yea.  That the story is what you'll remember--not the tantrums and tears and spilled milk.  More like the dancing around the kitchen wearing a princess crown and daddy's gym shoes and thinking you are the most beautiful thing in the whole wide world.  I'll hold on to that one.
