Here's to many, many, many more years.
Five Years.

Five years! Five years we've been married as of this past week. It has been a crazy beautiful adventure to say the very least. Two and a half kids, two houses, six cars, and an outrageous number of DIY projects. To celebrate, we packed up the girls and headed west for a week or so. I don't know how many times we were called crazy for going on a mountain vacation with a one and two year old. Admittedly, there were a few moments when we pondered our sanity. It was such an adventure, though. We stayed in a bitty town of 147 people, rode trains, saw moose, elk, and mountain goats, and hiked a tiny part of the Continental Divide trail. And we took waaaay too many photos.
We have been home for two days and yet I still find myself drifting back to those moments of the past week. The moments of cool mountain air, walking dirt roads, eating entirely too much pizza, and seeing my girls and husband in a whole new way--the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful. Staying in a creaky old miner's home with little hot water, riding steam engines, and chasing two toddlers isn't everyone's ideal adventure, but it is ours and that means everything.
Here's to many, many, many more years.
