Our Farm.

Monday, December 16, 2013

The past two months have been so crazy.  Like crazy cool and crazy stressful rolled into a ball of crazy awesome.  We sold our proverbial first child…our house!  And we bought a smaller, quirky 1970’s ranch with plenty of geese wallpaper, a forty year old barn, a tire swing, and over two acres of land to run.  After two long months, we closed on the property this morning!  Cue really excited dancing that involves both jazz hands and this white girl’s attempt at twerking.  Eww, but we’re so, so excited! We have eleven days to complete renovations and move in before we close on our current house (so, so thankful to have sold so quickly).   We thought it would be fun to blog about our next eleven days.  To remember the good, bad, sweet, and ugly of moving to our farm.  We have a feeling that if we don’t write it down, the paint fumes will probably go straight to our brains, removing any memory of holding a paint brush at 1am, as we frantically try to complete a mini renovation and move by Christmas.   Wait, that means we only have nine more days.  Ah!  Care to join in the adventure?  We’ll try our darndest to post of our adventures at the end of each day.  Yay!
 The backyard is our favorite.

p.s. The attorney at the closing said that she can see us making the property a, "bohemian chic farm."  I have no idea what that means, but I kind of like it.
