Fall-ing.

Sunday, September 9, 2012

I love fall.  Everything about it.  The cider doughnuts, cooler weather, sweaters, pumpkin spice candles, fall colors, leaves, football ... really just about everything.  Yesterday was the first fall-ish type day here in the good 'ole Midwest.  I mentioned to Kerry over lunch yesterday (wearing sweaters on the deck, no less) that perhaps it was the most gorgeous day of the year yet.  We spent most of the day outside at a vintage market and then perusing a few garage sales.
Ona wanted to take that sweet car home with her, but the $95 price tag was a bit much.  We did splurge on two pieces of art for a grand total of $3.
Both of these will probably take a little tlc and find themselves in Ona's big girl room.  The collection of things for her room is getting larger and more random by the week.  The rose frame definitely needs a paint job and I am thinking of cutting up that bird art into a couple different frames.  Thoughts?
All of the fresh, cool air yesterday gave me an itch to decorate for fall.  Ever since Ona was born I have failed in my seasonal decorating.  Aside from taking down the Christmas decor last year, I don't think I have touched my everyday decor settings that I have had since January.  So sorry, Easter, Spring, Summer ... ha.  I gave myself a pat on the shoulder for getting my fall decorations up during naptime yesterday and today.  Here are a few of the vignettes around the house.

Nothing too special, but fun.  Ah, it's a wonder why I don't burn pumpkin spice candles all year long.  Happy fall!
p.s. While I was setting out pumpkins I was secretly counting down the days until Kerry will let me put up Christmas decor.  Seventy-six if you're wondering!
p.p.s.  I have convinced Ona that if she wants to go outside, now that is cooler, she has to wear her hat and she listens!

    1. Thanks friend! I bought most of those bitty pumpkins a couple years ago. I think from Hobby Lobby and Michaels ... maybe Marshalls. I can't remember exactly, but that would be my guess!
