March Blues Buster Challenge Week 1

March Blues Buster Challenge Week 1 came to a close this morning. Here are this week's submissions.

Submission#1:: Inspired by a mound of beautiful wedding cards, Chelsi wanted to find a creative way to display them.  She started off with a pile of gorgeous wedding cards. She then took scissors and cut up cards into small "paper" pieces and using glossy Mod Podge, adhered them to these craft letters from Paper Source.  It turned out so great.Isn't that such a sweet idea?  They are great for Valentine's Day decor, but I think she could definitely use them all year long as well.  This could also be a neat idea for turning those cute baby shower cards into a wall hanging for a nursery.

Submission#2:: Inspired by this recipe found on Pinterest, Cathy made this delicious sounding French Toast Bake this morning. Her family gave it decent reviews, but would probably prefer regular French Toast next time.  Looks delicious to me, especially after the horrific pancakes I made this morning.

Submission#3:: This weekend I co-hosted a baby shower with two other friends.  It was so much fun. I will definitely try to share some more details on that later this week.  Anyways, the night before the shower, I picked up a couple bouquets of budget blooms totaling $15.76.I was able to make seven bouquets of flowers that were placed around the house as centerpieces and general loveliness.
I did a quick flower search online and realized I could have easily shelled out over $100 for something similar.  I had never really thought to buy budget blooms and make my own bouquets, so I thought I would share.

Submission#4:: After purchasing the material +  forwarding these inspiration links and how-to's here and here to my sweet hubby, Kerry took it upon himself to make this DIY Roman Shade  for our kitchen window.

Kerry followed the no sew how-to instructions almost exactly.  He thought the how-to's were great, but additionally suggests using very thin amounts of fabric glue and allowing for a bit more fabric than you think you will need.

There you have it, this week's submissions.  Thank you for submitting your projects.  It really does make me all giddy inside!

March Blues Buster Challenge Week 2 has begun.  Cannot wait to see what you come up with this week!  Email your submissions to spokenforpress@yahoo.com by midnight Saturday, March 17th.  Click here to see more general information on the challenge.
