March in Northern Illinois tends to be a bit dreary. It is the time of year where the sun hardly shines, there are no major holidays to plan for, and apart from the St. Patrick’s Day green there is really no seasonal decorating to speak of. Lest we become stagnant in our efforts to keep our houses and lives festive during these thirty-one days of March, I am proposing a challenge. So many of us are DIY fans and dedicated Pinterest-ers with boards full of pins. I thought it would be fun to issue a challenge to beat the March blues. Here's the challenge. Complete four projects in the month of March that either you have pinned or have simply had rumbling in your heart. Submit a photo of your inspiration, your finished project, and any description to spokenforpress@yahoo.com by midnight March 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. I will gather the submissions and post them right here on my blog giving credit where credit is due each Sunday (March 11th, 18th, 25th, & April 1st).
I think this will be a super fun way to stay busy and to act on all of the great ideas sites like Pinterest have to offer. I know I need the motivation! The four projects do not have to necessarily be house related. It could be as simple as rearranging the furniture, making that recipe you have been meaning to, etc. Really, the sky is the limit. If you think four projects is too much for your plate, simply join any week you can. This is just for fun, so tell your friends and let’s inspire all sort of creativity and community! Seriously, I am so excited to have something to look forward to in this normally bluesy March. Can't wait!
