mod podge ::j::

We have been crazy busy this past month with the arrival of our Ona Lea, so pardon the apparent blog abandonment.  Ona is doing so great and we are loving this figuring out how to be a parent thing!  Last week, Ona made her first trip of many to come to Hobby Lobby.  We snagged this faux wood  "J" for our great friend Corrie  ::aka the she monster mastermind::.  Ona and Corrie share a birthday, so needless to say, we were a bit occupied on her special day this year.  Thus, we thought we'd make it up to her by making a mod podge "J" for her classroom ::she is a teacher and her last name begins with J::.  Ona and I bought a small package of vintage-y type paper in predominate shades and patterns of brown and blues and used matte mod podge that we had on hand at home::Due to the sticky nature of mod podge and a sleeping baby that
could
did awake in the middle of the process, I regret to say that there are no in process photos.  However, after a little cuddle time and an apology for getting mod podge remnants in Ona's hair ... this is what we were left with::Corrie just loved it and even pointed out that the reverse side of the "J" looks strikingly similar to a "G", which she loves since her hubby's name is Gavin.  Last I heard she was planning on displaying the "J" towards her classroom and the "G" ::reminiscent of her hubby:: towards her.  Three cheers for first mother/daughter artsy projects!

Now, to get some fall decorating up!
