evolution::day 7

Gee, I just wanted to pinch the hubs cheeks after his post on Saturday.  What. a. guy!

Well, the progress hasn't stopped!  Saturday afternoon, the hubs and I worked on a collage that will go above the dresser. ::details to come::  However, we did decide that the collage layout necessitated a few more Ribba frames from Ikea.  So, after the hubs left for work on Sunday morning, I headed towards the suburbs.

After our crazy week of nursery beautifying, I thought it would be kind of a relaxing few hours... run to Ikea and be back by oh, noon or so.  Just have  a little me time driving there and back.  I forgot for a second though that (a)I am pregnant and (b)Ikea could be likened to a mad house on Sunday mornings.

Needless to say, here's a snapshot of the experience::

Forty-five minute wait to return this cute four cubby that we decided against. Ten minute shopping cart hunt due to escalator confusion.  One dropped and shattered lightbulb.  Twenty minute debate on this tower five cubby and coordinating baskets.  One 54 pound box in self-serve area that this one prego lady couldn't carry.  One petite Ikea lady who moved said box onto an additional cart.  =  Two carts for one prego lady to maneuver.  One self-serve check out with two carts and a slow moving Ikea man that was wholly unhelpful in my call for assistance.  Ten minute price discrepancy extravaganza over a $ .99 package of potpourri.  One Maxie to load with aforementioned 54 pound box and a cart full of miscellaneous by yes, one prego lady.

I am totally not one to complain, but it was just that bad. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Once home, things did get much better.  After assembling the tower cubby, arranging the miscellaneous, and working on a few ultrasound photo frames all while humming belting out with my girl Adele, here's what it looked like when the hubby got home...

A shot through the doorway::

So, all-in-all the nearly disastrous Ikea run turned into something sweet for gal babes.  Gosh, love her!

Oh, and the next time I think that it is a good idea to venture to Ikea at nearly six months pregnant for potentially heavy items without my hauler hubby ... somebody slap me.

Evolution::Day 8 tomorrow.

  2. Laura! Thanks so much! We cannot wait for her to get here. It's been really fun working on the nursery AND yes, I never thought I would say that gray would be a great wall color, but we LOVE it! So, you have my vote for painting all your walls gray! ;) Have a great day!
